In-destination projects

The projects that took us places. From racing through the streets of Kathmandu on two wheels to filling conference halls in Kampala; destinations and the stakeholders who represent them are at the center of what we do.

  • Private sector and institutional support through Digital marketing training, and developing a sustainable online marketing service industry for tour operators following an MSD approach

  • An in-destination training assignment covering seven digital marketing modules. Participants included staff from regional tourism offices in Samarkand, Bukhara, Surkandarya, Kashkadarya, and Fergana Valley.

  • (In progress) Digital export marketing coaching with 18 locally-owned DMCs. Activities include training, video production, and digital market entry through the development of an online directory.

  • National Tourism Agency: Digital Marketing facilitation and support for Zambia Tourism Agency during the planning and development of their a new national tourism website, and the planning and implementation of ZTA’s email marketing strategy and database.

    Tourism Trade: Digital Marketing Workshops and individual coaching sessions with tour operators in Lusaka and Livingstone covering topics of website strategy, social media marketing, email marketing and search engine optimisation. Website development and stakeholder training for the Livingstone Tourism Association.

  • Tourism Trade: Over 600 tourism stakeholders trained in Kampala in four days, covering topics of digital marketing trends, website strategy development and best practices, content creation, and SEO. Contribution to the program’s training manual.

  • Tourism Trade: Digital Marketing group workshops and individual coaching in with tour operators as part of an initiative to grow awareness of the Kayah State as a preferred destination for community-based tourism experiences. Topics included website best practices, social media marketing, and search engine optimisation.

    Business to Business-focussed digital marketing training and individual coaching with tour operators in Yangon, covering in-depth modules of LinkedIn marketing and advertising and B2B website strategy.

  • National Tourism Board: Facilitation and support to Nepal Tourism Board during the process of redeveloping the official national tourism website. Digital Marketing workshops with NTB staff across multiple departments.

    Tourism Trade: Digital Marketing Workshops and individual coaching sessions with tour operators an hoteliers in Kathmandu and Pokhara, covering topics of website strategy, content creation, social media marketing, search engine optimisation and advertising.

  • National Tourism Council: Facilitation of digital marketing training with staff members of the Tourism Council of Bhutan, covering topics of DMO website best practices and social media marketing for destinations.

Remote & Hybrid

Our industry is evolving rapidly, with virtual training and collaboration quickly becoming the norm. We have consulted over a hundred tourism brands across time zones and continents. Speak to us about going remote.

  • As a training component of a regional tourism development project for EAC (East Africa Community), we were hired to facilitate a series of virtual workshops for tourism stakeholders in EAC Countries. The training had a specific focus on regional tourism promotion and digital campaigns, investigating global examples and benchmarks.

  • Tourism Trade: Remote digital marketing training through webinars and individual virtual coaching, on topics including website strategy, social media (B2B and B2C), SEO, virtual experiences and Crowdfunding in light of COVID-19.

  • Tourism Trade: Virtual Digital Marketing Workshop with private and public sector tourism stakeholders Liberia. Topics covered include website strategy, social media marketing, and search engine optimisation. This was a hybrid virtual event with the majority of participants gathered in a meeting room in Monrovia and the remaining participants joining over Zoom.

  • Buddhist Circuit Tourist Route: Corporate identity design and website development for the Buddhist Circuit Tourist Route.

Speaking, events and writing

We’ve shared expertise and contributed our views through numerous industry platforms, from events, to podcasts and publications.

  • We contributed to CBI’s Market Information on How to be a successful tourism business online. This included a panelist role in a series of webinars to promote the content.

  • We co-facilitated a Digital Marketing masterclass at Word Travel Market Africa. The session offered a practical approach to market segmentation for digital campaigns and setting up advertising funnels. Peter was joined by Lizanne du Plessis from Eco Africa Digital.

  • We hosted two virtual classes as part of Africa Travel Week’s online event in 2020 and 2021. The sessions covered websites as marketing channels for tourism brands and preparing for market recovery (amidst 2020 pandemic)

  • We wrote the digital marketing chapter on the Sustainable Tourism Handbook - South Africa Addition. The chapter included practical advice on storytelling through digital channels, and how to differentiate a tourism brand online, as part of a broader sustainable business strategy.
